Dominica is a small, mountainous island in the Eastern Caribbean, sitting between the French territories of Guadeloupe and Martinique, and one of the most untouched places in the region. Unlike much of the Caribbean, it never developed into a resort destination — what it has instead is rainforest covering most of the island, volcanic hot springs, sperm whales in the waters year-round, over 200 rivers, and some of the best diving and hiking in the region.
In 2021, the government launched the Work in Nature (WIN) Extended Stay Visa, giving remote workers a legal way to live on the island for up to 18 months. No local sponsor needed — just apply, pay a fee, and work from one of the more unusual places on Earth. This guide covers everything you need to know.
Who Can Apply: Eligibility Requirements
Work Requirements
You must be able to work remotely. Employees, freelancers, self-employed individuals, and business owners are all eligible, provided their work is performed for companies or clients not registered in Dominica.

You must be of good character with no criminal record.
Passport Validity
Your passport must be valid for the duration of your intended stay.
